So far 2019 is looking great! I came into 2019 with a good feeling. On a whim I decided to apply to be a volunteer with the crisis text line. I didn’t think I would get in but I thought why not.
My mother helped me fill out the application and I got my three references in. Then all I had to do was play the waiting game. It turns out I didn’t have to wait very long as I got an email on Monday that said I was excepted into the program. I did my background check and signed up for the first available training which is January 14.
Not only will this opportunity be good for my degree, but it will also help me help others. What of my passions has always been helping people and this will make me feel like a productive member of society outside of just being a mother. I can’t wait to start my training and see where this road takes me!

What kind of volunteer work are you going to do? I like this because I can do it at home while I’m with the baby

My husband suggested the ASPCA or something else related to animals. I really wanted a farm for that reason, but it gets WAY too hot here for that.
